The bed base Auping invented
In 1888, a hospital director asked Johannes Albertus Auping, a blacksmith from Deventer, for a well-ventilated bed. His answer was to weave steel spirals. That was the birth of the spiral mesh base that Auping still makes today.

Auping guarantees all its mesh bases and box spring frames for 35 years against wire and frame breakage. Motors, gas springs and electronics: 5 years.
