Tell me how you sleep and I’ll tell you how you’re

The posture in which we sleep says a lot about us. Since when we sleep our subconscious is the one that reigns, the posture and the movements we make give us away, it is the moment in which we are 100% us.

According to a recent study, there are six predominant sleeping postures , each of them typical of a different personality. These are:

  • FETAL POSTURE: on the side, with the legs and arms hunched over, as when we were in the mother’s belly. It is the most common posture in women, more than half of the female population sleeps like this. But it is not only typical of women, more than 40% of the total population sleeps in this position. They are people who show great security but are actually very sensitive, so when they are unconscious they protect themselves. If you are one of those who sleep like this, keep in mind that your pillow should be higher than normal so that your spine is aligned with your neck and head.

FETAL POSTURE

  • TRUNK POSE: sideways, with the arms dropped along the body. 15% of the population sleeps in this position. These people are usually very sociable and with the makings of a leader. They are firm in their beliefs, like a tree trunk, strong. If you sleep in this position, you should vary during the night to facilitate blood flow.
  • NOSTALGIC OR ORATOR POSTURE: ON THE SIDE, WITH THE ARMS EXTENDED IN FRONT OF YOU AT RIGHT ANGLES TO THE BODY. The position is very similar to the previous one, only that these people tend to have more mischief, with a more critical view of the world. This posture should be alternated with others as it can cause cardiovascular problems.

NOSTALGIC POSTURE

  • SOLDIER POSTURE: on his back, with the body completely stretched and the arms close to it. They are shy and introverted people, very reserved, lovers of routine and schedules. This posture can cause breathing problems, especially snoring.

SOLDIER POSTURE

  • FREE FALL POSE: Face down with your arms around the pillow and your head to the side. It is an uncommon position and people who sleep in this way are usually very nervous and not very receptive to criticism. It is not a very good posture for the cervical spine.

FREE FALL POSTURE

  • STARFISH POSE: On your back, with your arms stretched up (similar to free fall, but just the other way around). It is the least common posture and people who sleep this way are altruistic, with a lot of generosity and tend to make friends easily, avoiding being the center of attention. It is not recommended for obese people or people with respiratory problems, as it causes snoring.

And you? What position do you sleep in? Do you agree with the description of your personality?
