How to clean a mattress properly? Write down these tips

Good rest is influenced by many factors beyond having a good mattress. It is useless to buy the best mattress if we do not carry out proper maintenance.

An infinite number of bacteria, dust and mites accumulate daily on any mattress, not to mention sweat and urine stains, in the case of the youngest members of the house. Therefore, cleaning the mattress well is essential to rest well.

We tell you how to clean a mattress correctly.
First of all, we will make a fundamental recommendation: ventilate the room daily for at least 10 minutes. Shake your pillows well and don’t forget to change your bedding at least every eight days.

Once or twice a year we should perform a deep cleaning of our mattress. This is how we must clean a mattress step by step.

1. Take out all the bedding.
2. Put the mattress outdoors for at least an hour.
3. Place the mattress on its base and sprinkle some baking soda on the mattress and brush with it.
4. Vacuum deeply.
5. You can spray some textile disinfectant. Let it air out for at least half an hour before putting clean bedding back on.

Baking soda eliminates moisture, bad odors, bacteria, dirt and especially mites.

Once our mattress has been cleaned, it is important to use mattress protectors and underpads to prevent sweat from reaching the mattress. This way we will keep our mattress clean for longer.
If over time the condition of the mattress is not optimal, it is advisable to replace it.
