Two out of three Spaniards would dedicate between 20 and 60 minutes to napping, if they could, while only 15 percent of those surveyed would not do so every day even if they had time available for it, according to data extracted from the I Sociological Study on vitality and nutrition in Spain carried out by Zespri. with the aim of knowing the time of day when respondents feel most active, find out what actions they take to increase their vitality and link it to their nutritional habits.
This study, which has been carried out on 2,224 people between 16 and 65 years of age throughout the national territory during the month of December, has also revealed that 41 percent of the Spaniards surveyed say that they usually take a nap at least once a week.
On the other hand, 70 percent of those surveyed have assured that they feel more energetic during the first part of the day, especially from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (58%), but this figure increases as the age of the participants in the survey increases, since however, the youngest are considered more active from the early hours of the afternoon.
When analyzing the results of the study by sex, it stands out that women, to a greater extent than men, choose to take a break; while men, on the contrary, prefer to exercise or drink an energy drink.
In terms of employment status, people who work are more active in the early morning to a greater extent than those who are unemployed, who indicate that they are more active at night. Likewise, in times of fatigue, 49 percent of the Spaniards who have participated in the study say they resort to a cup of coffee or tea to get an extra dose of vitality. The second option is to take a break from the task at hand (37%), followed by taking a nap (27%), sleeping more hours the next night (25%) or exercising (23%).
On the other hand, younger people say that when they feel down, they increase their vitality with a nap, sleeping more hours the next night or drinking an energy drink.
Finally, one of the practices integrated into the lives of Spaniards is physical exercise. In this regard, 8 out of 10 respondents say they practice sport, of which more than half (54%) do so at least once a week; while 29 percent practice it occasionally.
