When choosing the right mattress, the degree of adaptability and firmness is one of the main factors, but there are others such as weight and height that must also be complementary, if what the person wants is to obtain the best rest and comfort while sleeping.
The following lines offer a series of indications on appropriate mattresses according to the weight or physical constitution of the person:
- Pocket spring mattresses, having a metal structure of independent springs protected with bags, offer greater firmness, therefore, they are usually the most recommended for people weighing more than 100 kg.
- In this case, latex mattresses or mattresses with memory foam padding greater than 4 centimeters are not recommended, as they would cause the sinking effect of the person resting. Nor are HR foam mattresses, despite offering greater resistance to subsidence, not advisable for overweight people.
- For people with a slim build, mattresses with HR foam core and latex and memory foam padding and a medium/soft or medium/high firmness level (depending on the degree of hardness desired) are the most suitable in this case.
- For children or situations in which mattresses will be used sporadically, mattresses with an HR foam core and a thickness of between 18 and 21 cm are recommended.
If in doubt, always ask the professional for advice when buying a mattress. In Mi Colchón stores we have professionals with extensive experience who will advise you and recommend the most suitable range of mattresses according to your physical characteristics, needs and preferences.
