Nowadays it is increasingly common for manufacturers to produce single-sided mattresses. Until recently, most people made mattresses with the two identical sides.
This allowed the mattress to be turned completely from time to time to extend the life of our mattress. But over time this has been changing and evolving and it is becoming more and more common to find single-sided mattresses on the market.
To be able to make good decisions, you have to know the strengths of each one, and that is our mission today.
The design of single-sided mattresses is made up of a top upholstery with several layers that guarantee an excellent level of comfort.
In general terms, these mattresses are made up of a high-density base or a spring shell, on which the different layers are added depending on the firmness and comfort to be achieved. Finally, the top layer is usually very soft and cozy.
Some come with a built-in topper to give extra comfort.
However, the design of double-sided mattresses, have a core and several layers of padding on both sides. This allows them to be used interchangeably on both sides.
In terms of durability and maintenance, single-sided mattresses, have evolved a lot, due to the quality of the materials used. Turning a single-sided mattress is much easier than turning a double-sided mattress, especially if it is a certain size. So this can be a plus point.
In double-sided mattresses , manufacturers have to use twice as much material as in single-sided mattresses, so comfort and firmness are usually somewhat higher, on the contrary, for this same reason, their price is usually higher.
In reality, it is the materials and their composition that condition the qualities of a mattress. A single-sided mattress can devote more space to layering the core. However, if the foams and fibers used are not optimal, this possibility does not translate into higher quality.
Whichever option you choose, in any of our mattress stores in Malaga, you will find endless possibilities.
