Rolled mattresses are becoming more and more popular every day. Its quality and functionality are joined by its powerful technology and small size.
In roll form, the rolled mattress is one that has undergone a vacuum packaging process. By means of a machine, it is pressed so that it then adopts that cylindrical appearance that characterizes it. They are usually foams or springs but we can also find them made of viscoelatic.
Some of the advantages offered by rolled mattresses:
They take up little space so they facilitate transport.
This is not only comfortable, but also, as a general rule, you can take it home the same day. It should be noted that not all mattresses can be rolled up. Normally it is the mid-range mattresses and the cheapest ones that come rolled, to optimize the space in their transport.
Costs are reduced
As it is a much easier mattress to handle, transport and store, the costs dedicated to logistics are reduced. These cost savings are reflected in the final price of the product.
Hygiene is guaranteed
Another advantage of roll-up mattresses is that they are much more hygienic. Being completely hermetically sealed prevents bacteria or dirt from entering it while they are stored.
But how to unroll a mattress properly?
Unroll it and spread it out on the bed.
Open the plastic sleeve to let air in. Once opened, air will enter and the mattress will begin to expand.
Remove the mattress from the plastic cover.
Spread it over the base so that it takes its final shape.
It is usually recommended to wait between 12 and 24 hours to be able to sleep on a newly opened mattress and enjoy all its advantages.
What to know before buying a roll-up mattress?
Rolled mattresses, when pressed, open the pores of the foams that compose them, so if you have tried a specific model in the store, at home it may seem more “soft”.
Not all mattresses can be “rolled up”, it depends on their composition. Currently many mattresses, even pocket springs, are being rolled up.
Normally it is the mid-range mattresses and the cheapest ones that come rolled, to optimize the space in their transport, and therefore their final price.
Premium mattresses will never be rolled up, so that no material “suffers”, and arrives at your home in perfect condition of use.
